In Room 3 we made amazing kites to fly for Matariki.

Our kites were made out of paper bags, streamers and our beautiful illustrations.

After making our kites we got to go outside to the big field and fly them in the lovely, warm sunshine.

We had to run really fast to make sure our kites could fly behind us. It was pretty tiring!

Now our beautiful kites are displayed in Room 3 - make sure you come and take a look!

Room 3's Matariki Book

At Papatoetoe South School we have been creating our own Matariki books (with Mrs Lockhart's help) to share with the other classrooms.

In Room 3 we decided to celebrate the Maori New Year by thinking about the past year, and sharing some of our happiest moments with each other.

After creating our stars and drawing beautiful pictures of our happy memories we took our big book to Room 1 who sat beautifully and listened to us.

Good work Room 3! Happy Matariki to every body.
